Bloody Difficult Women, At Large:
Fighting Misogyny Online

Join Michcon de Reya for the sequel to an event they ran November 2019 looking at how women are disproportionately attacked online. Such experiences, or the fear of them, may dissuade women from speaking out, from putting their heads above the parapet and from reaching their full potential.

This event will delve deeper into the scale and impact of online misogyny and hear directly from some of the women who are at the vanguard of change, including at social media platforms and in Government.

Some of the questions we will address include:

How much of a problem is online misogyny and how is it affecting women from all walks of life? What solutions and technologies exist or are on the horizon? What can we all do as digital citizens to mitigate online abuse?

Chair and panellists include:

Emma Woollcott (Chair), Partner, Head of Reputation Protection, Mishcon de Reya LLP

Rebecca Stimson, Head of UK public policy, Facebook

Katy Minshall, Head of UK Government, Public Policy & Philanthropy, Twitter

Stella Creasy MP, Labour and Co-operative, Member of Parliament for Walthamstow

Seyi Akiwowo, Founder and CEO, Glitch

Anno Mitchell, Principal, The Internet Commission
